About Synergy
Values
- Effective ministry and mission flowing from strong, vibrant supportive relationships between the churches and their key leaders.
- Whole church communities supporting one another.
The ethos at its core is marked by the following features.
Synergy is steered from a relationally focused meeting where honesty; vulnerability and mutual support are highly valued. This steering is spiritually discerned in a safe environment of mutual respect. Any sense of superiority, inequality or paternalism will be resisted and overcome. Good management and administration are important, albeit, they remain secondary to our primary values.
Aims
To mutually support and resource the ministry and mission of participating churches.
To do this through relationship building and spiritual discernment
To enable an appropriate flow of gift, ministry, expertise and resources amongst the churches.
To counter social, economic and cultural factors hindering a flow of ministry and resources.
Vision
- To observe and encourage good & effective practice; to enhance this further, and share lessons learnt with others.
- To enable conversation & ideas to be shared by those in isolated situations, and to encourage a spirit of experimentation to flow.
- To appoint a community minister to enable experience and expertise to be shared amongst others.
- To enable the community minister to be a resource and an adviser in ministry and mission development.
- To provide training opportunities for developing leaders. It will also provide service opportunities for church members.
- To grow organically as both its needs and resources are discerned.
- To develop duplicate partnerships or expand the existing partnership.
The core relational meeting will share the developing story of Synergy and be a place where opportunities and adjustments can be discerned.
